October 5 update only crashes

Hi, I really enjoy the game! After the October 5th update was installed the program will not open and immediately prompts a crash report. How can i fix this and retain my current characters? Thanks.

cannot locate saved game files

Also experienced a crash after downloading the White March expansion this evening. Tried to locate the saved game files but have not had any luck. Attempted to follow the path another reviewer shared, not locating a “containers” folder in the Library folder (is this because i’m using a MacBook Air?). Just recently had to start over after I couldn’t leave the tower in heritage hills. Really enjoy the game, but not a happy camper about all the problems.

Will not Launch

Crashes on launch.

Completely worth every penny

I’ve played Baldur’s Gate, Torment, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights more times that I can count. Pillars of Eternity has a similar game engine, but has all the things I always wanted but didn’t have in the others. The story is enjoyable, there’s variety to the story based on your character, you get to build a keep, inventory management is super easy, and it’s got a fantastic replay value.

Stunning!

This is one of the best games I’ve played in years and the best RPG games I’ve ever played. Not only is it a great story-driven RPG, it has a fantastic combat system that rewards tactical thinking. Amazing graphics! If you’ve ever played games like Baldur’s Gate, you’ll really enjoy Pillars.

Awesome!!!!

This game is absoultely amazing. A great shout out to RPG games of the 90’s with updated graphics. Get this game and you will not be dissapointed.

Beautiful

Easily one of the best games I’ve played in years. The music, the scenery, the natstalgia from Baldur’s Gate, TONS of quests- it’s everything you could ask for. As expected, plays flawless on my Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), 4 GHz Intel Core i7

Missing GUI

When I open this app, it seems to work, but all buttons say “Missing GUI”. Completely unplayable. looking around on the webs, it looks like it has something to do with volumes being case-sensitivie. Does not say in the MAS description. Would not recommend.

Boring

Cannot see how this could rate an editors choice award. Boring. Slow. Overly complex meaningless details. Right out of the 1980’s type of gaming. I would not recommend this game for anyone who enjoys playing computer games.

Disappointed that Mac/Linx ports have cloaks removed

I understand the techincal issues surrounding the Shroud plugin but I find this totally unacceptable that I cannot get a refund now and I won’t be able to enjoy the game to its full potential. In fact, I was disgusted to find the game has been out for far too long without some kind of workaround in place. It will require a lot of reworking, that’s understandable, but you’ve put out an expansion before addressing base game issues which is wrong.

Bugged Out the Yang!

This program is bugged out the yang. Less then an hour after initial download and install, I got through 1 character creation and it crashes. Every attempt to start the game over ends in a crash. NOT RECOMMENDED. Some one paid the “editiors” off!

Excellent!

Excellent! Been running this flawlessly on a MBP Retina 15” (El Capitan) for weeks now. Lots and lots o’ fun!

Hugely enjoyable especially for fans of classic CRPGs

If you’re a fan of the Baldur’s Gate series or its siblings like Icewind Dale, you’re going to love this game. In essence, it is an homage to those great games of the past with modern graphics and with an alternative to the traditional AD&D rules that are still deep and compelling. The inventory, unlike most cRPGS is entirely painless; you have a stash that can hold unlimited items. For reference - I completed the game on a 2012 iMac without any issues or crashes. Highly recommended

Graphics highly unstable

This would be a very good game if the graphics were stable; with annoying consistency, after about 30-40 minutes a change in frame results in complete distortion of the picture, and I’ve tried various in-game fixes. Always requires rebooting the game, which often means progress to the point of ‘crash’ hasn’t been saved. Using an iMac 21.5 inch late 2012, 2.7 GHZ intel core i5; memory 8 GB 1600 MHZ DDR3; NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 M 512 MB.

Please Note this is a turn based rpg

When purchasing I had no idea that this was a turn based strategy game. I assumed it was like Baulder’s Gate or the like. However I sadly discovered it was turned based.

I Cast Mediocrity!

Classic gameplay and feel with only shades of the substabce that made the classics the classics. There are hints of a great storyline here and it is realized in some aspects, but slightly antiquted interface combined with broken difficulty and balancing issues destroy the pleasure game. Do yourself a favor, don’t play on anything but hard. Strategies that work on easier difficulties will not work in set-piece boss battles which are the same regardless of what difficulty setting you are on - this you might as well train yourself the whole time on a harder difficulty. This combined with an almost rock-paper-scissors damage system makes the game a dry effort in looking up weakness, micro management, and trial and error. I am not the same person I was years ago, I don’t have an afternoon to devote to one encounter. If you have that sort of free time download it. Crafting, enchanting, and the artwork are all pretty top notch. As I eluded to earlier, there is very much the essence of a good game here. Character creation is fun. You can build a whole party from scratch or recruit NPC’s which add to the story. No love interests, but there is a brothel. There are plenty of sufficiently-interesting side quests, little hidden secrets that almost make the rogue worthwhile, and nooks and carnnies to explore. These highlights, however, do not make up for an overall underwhelming product.

Good game but BUGGY

This game is great and fun to play but extremely buggy. I find myself putting my computer to sleep and reloading the game at least 8 time while I play. Please fix this isssue.

wont start

this game looks fun but the fact of the matter is it just wont start for me. anyone know how i can get my money back?

White March Expansion does not include Part 2

Hey Apple, get on the ball. GOG and Steam both have Part 2 of the White March expansion, but App Store does not. Steam & GOG expansions don’t work unless you’re running their version of the main game, so we App Store users are left waiting ...
